The interaction with land as the hurricane brushes past the Yucatan Peninsula plus the increasing influence of westerly shear and even some mid-level dry air intrusion could weaken Wilma considerably before it directly affects Florida.
I'm really hoping that this is the case. I sure do feel bad for the Yucatan Peninsula right now, but I really hate worrying about all of my loved ones in Florida. I know you all will be as prepared as you can be, but that doesn't stop the worrying.
